HELP!!!!!!!in the inuyasha ds game how do i get to the susuki plains?

i downloaded the inuyasha ds game from the internet and idk if there is something wrong with my game or if im not doing it right but i just cant seem to go north and get to the susuki plains Hachi wont go past those mountains....what should i do? pleeease help me thanks
