Scorpio man does he want me or not?

So when we started dating everything was perfect. He was so open with me and affectionate. Things started going down hill when he started talking about moving away in several months but would never ask me how I felt. This is how his last serious relationship ended badly because of long distance. He was still affectionate but at time his behavior was weird and I could feel him pulling away from me. Sometimes he was just plain inconsiderate. He went away on a trip and the nite he came back (monday) he didnt act like he wanted to even try and see me. I got upset cause I told him I would wait for him like he asked then he treated me like that. He said he couldn`t handle a relationship right now that he was having problems with himself and needed to work them out. He needed time. Completely broke my heart. He kept saying that he needed me as a friend and didnt want to lose me. I pleaded with him but it didnt work. I told him it was too hard to be just his friend. We have not broke communication yet. No break. Yesterday was the first day we had not spoke to each other since we started dating. I wrote him a letter and left it at his house today while he was gone . I wrote I wanted to try a relationship with him still more than anything but could not just be his friend it hurts too bad and I didnt want to talk much anymore unless he is willing to try to work things out. I dont think he has read the letter yet. He used to get so mad if I ever missed his calls and he was always checking up on me. I missed his call today and he still got mad at me and is still checking up on me. Why would he do this? Does he want me and just got scared or what? Very confusing behavior
